We offer toll free access to a hosted Dictation System for transcription companies who do not like the cost of purchasing and managing costly hardware and software. Q. How do I submit my dictations? How secure are my transcription records? A. Dictations are submitted over the phone via toll-free line that you can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Additionally, we accept dictation via tele-conference, web-casts, tapes, minidisks and digital handheld recorders . You are guaranteed of 100% security since Thuriam uses the premier online security protocols, which are available at the moment. Your personal account is password protected in turn the authorized users only can access your transcribed information.

Q. How will I send my tapes or files?
A. You can send us your tapes by mails and couriers. You can also send us audio or video files:
- By burning them on a CD;
- By attaching them to an e-mail (make sure that the records are not too big);
- By uploading them to our FTP server. This is the most suitable way and the FTP server is available 24 hours a day.
Q. What kinds of tapes / media do you transcribe?
A. We accept the following media:

- Video: VHS, VHS-S (S-Video), 8mm

Q. How long does it take to receive my transcription or dub?
A . Standard turnaround time is 24 hours to 48 hours. Rush Transcription service is 2- 4 hours. Contact us for more details.
Q. What do you do with my master tape when the job is completed?
A. Master tapes are sent back after the completion of transcription jobs. We only keep transcriptions for 2 months to 6 months before they are destroyed.
Q. Can you estimate how much my job will cost?

Q. What word processor formats do you support?
A. We supports most modern PC and Mac word processor file formats.
Q. Can you e-mail my transcription file and return my tapes by mail?
Yes.
Q. What is timecoding? Do you support both audio and video timecoding?
A. The timecode displayed on the playback monitor is included on the transcript. This timecode allows you to move directly to the point in the recording you need. Thuriam supports both audio and video time coding formats.
Q. How long will it take to transcribe one hour of audio file? How fast you can turnaround.?
A. A person speaks about 180-250 words per minute, while a transcriptionist can transcribe about 8 to 12 pages an hour, depending upon the quality of the tape. Speeches and interviews are easier to transcribe than focus groups or business meetings. So it will take minimum 3 hours to transcribe one hour of audio file. We can turnaround as quick as possible within 12 hours after your file being uploaded to our secured FTP server. Also by special arrangements with a 20% extra charge, customers can have transcription jobs done during off-hours and on weekends
Q. How do I get the transcript back?
A. Transcripts are emailed either as a Word or WordPerfect attachment.
Q. Do you pick up and deliver?
A. We can arrange for local pickup and delivery. The cost is added to your invoice. Please send your tapes by messenger, FedEx or any secure courier service.

Transcription Pricing
The quality of files would differ due to factors such as
• Bad quality of audio recording system
• Improper attachment of mike
• Very fast and accentuated speech.
• Disturbance in the background
• When the speaker's native language isn't English.
Considering these factors, our pricing and Turn-Around-Time for this transcription would vary based on quality. We can provide very competitive pricing upon verifying the audio quality and subject matter. In general, we charge anywhere between 50 to 60 USD per one of hour audio material (not one hour of labor) Also if you assure good volume of work regularly, we can work out a better pricing.

Billing
You will be billed for the length of the recorded tape you upload to us. We prefer to take advance payment of 50%. If the volume of work is not measurable in advance, then you can pay us token advance and adjust to final billing or at the end of project delivery.

We prefer to accept payment thru SWIFT Wire Transfer – for which we will provide our bank details after your confirmation of the order through email. Alternatively, we accept payment thru Credit Card payment system from our web site.
